The IOS workgroup participates in the frame of the Competence Center for Global Business Management on interdisciplinary research of essential economics-related and business management-related connections of international value-added networks with the objective, to support companies and the national economic policy managing the respective change processes.

In this context the IOS working group researches in the field of the ad-hoc configuration of value-added networks. The workgroup develops methods for dynamically linking application systems while configuring inter-organizational systems to foster an efficient co-operation and a smooth workflow between the business partners.

With this, an essential contribution for the improved operationalization of inter-organizational systems can be achieved, as the cross-company integration of application systems - which are typically branch- or producer-specific - can not be realized on the required level until now.
