On the 11th June 2002 the research group Component- and Service Engineering held the international workshop
Component-oriented Operational Application Systems (WKBA 4)
in cooperation with the GI-work group Component-oriented Operational Application Systems (WI-kobAS) in Augsburg.
Main focus of the workshop was the component-based design of operational application systems. Amongst others the topic comprehend questions to the following areas:
- Standardization and Specification of Business Components
- Composition, Configuration Management
- Component-Application-Frameworks, Business Objects
- Linking technologies and (functional) Error Handling
- Architectures, Component-System-Frameworks, Middleware
- Component markets
- Domain analysis and Component repository
- Specific questions of Information Management
