ITS: Winner of the DFG-Innovation-Contest

DFG-LogoThe University of Augsburg is one winner of the DFG-Innovation-Contest "Service Centers for Research Information - Integrated information management".

its-164x38The German Research Foundation (DFG) awarded the idea of creating an IT-Service-Center at the University of Augsburg as an examplary new concept of managing scientific information. With the beginning of 2006 the project was initially funded for two years with 500.000 Euro per year by the German Resaerch Foundation. 

The chair of Business Informatics and Systems Engineering of Prof. Turowski participated significantly in the project within the scope of the subproject "Integrated Groupware-Solution for efficient chair management".

Goals of the subproject "Integrated Groupware-Solution for efficient chair management" were:

  • Reorganisation of chair processes and linkage with relevant administrative processes
  • Development and implementation of a groupware platform for efficient process support
  • Technical interconnection of application system at the administrative units with the  groupware platform

During the first two years of the project the following results were achieved:

  • Analysis of office, teaching and research processes
  • Drafting of an integrative reference concept
  • Realization of experimental prototypes in the areas of room management, lecture announcement, dues assignment and group resolution
